The Hilma af Klint Foundation is a non-profit organization, established by Erik af Klint in January 1972.
The purpose of the Foundation is to preserve and manage the artistic legacy of Hilma af Klint, as well as to make it available to the public through exhibitions, internet and other media. The Foundation encourages and assists academic research about Hilma af Klint and her works by generously providing any requested information and access to the works in their digitalized form.
The Foundation owns the abstract works of the artist Hilma af Klint, paintings and various pieces of creation (sketches, sketchbooks, notebooks and other significant material), numbered in compliance with the register set up by Olof Sundström 1945.
The organization is financed through its own revenues and private support.
The Hilma af Klint Foundation does not hold any museum activity for the time being.
February 2018, the Foundation signed a long-term agreement of cooperation with the Moderna Museet in Stockholm, thereby confirming the perenity of the Hilma af Klint Room, i.e. a dedicated space at the museum where a dozen works of the artist is shown on a continuous basis. The cooperation with the museum and its staff also ensures a high degree of professional expertise to the activity of the Foundation.
